My recount about Mother's day

On sunday my Mum went to church with her mum and my uncles. They took my mum and my nana to Mcdonald's for breakfast. My sisters and I were at home waiting for my mum to come back from Mcdonald's.When they came back and we said “Happy Mother’s Day” and she said “Thank you”.

Later she went to cook so I helped her because it was Mother's Day and I thought I better help her out. She was cooking for the whole family. She made afternoon tea for the Mother’s Day at our church. Then I heard someone knocking on the door it was my aunty she gave us a cake for Mother's Day.Then My mum thanked her and had a talk.

My sisters and I had no money so we cleaned up the house for her. We were happy and she thanked us for helping her clean the house. Then they went and took the afternoon tea to the church for the mothers. They were happy and they enjoyed it .

When they  came back home we watched tv.It was getting dark so my aunt drove by our house and wished my mum happy Mother's Day she gave my nana chocolates and my mum a perfume and then she went. Then we went to sleep because we were very tired and we had school in the morning.

On Monday morning I woke and play games and watched tv and my Sister made breakfast for me and my little Sister and my Cousins then we went and brush our teeth and we got ready and waited for my mum to come pick us up And took us to the pools .

Me and my Sister Winnie went to the cold pools it was freezing cold and then we went out and went to the warm pools and we were splashing water at each other and my cousin was drowning so we took her to the baby pool and it was so warm .

And we got out and got change we all felt hungry so we walked to the shop and bought fish & chips and a drink then we walked home and ate and drink then we all went to the living room and watch a family movie .

And we all were happy and playing family games.

Decimats, Mafoa

Today we learnt about decimals in Maths. We used decimats
to help us learn. 1/10 is written as 0.1 in decimals and 1/100 is written as 0.01 in decimals.

On Tuesday Ms Adcocks science group went to Tamaki College to learn about science. As we went through learning about electronics, we met Mr Malhotra and Ms Graaf even Ms Caw - they were cool and exciting and awesome. We did different things. We met Skelly and Robby. Robby was a remote controller car and Skelly was a skeleton. Then we mixed hydrogen oxide, detergent and potassium iodide and it went up like a snake but we couldn't touch it until it was cool down.  It was so foamy and soft when we washed our hands and it was green because of the food colouring.  And Ms Graaf said it was ok .The end
     

Recount about inquiry presentations

On Thursday 8 May, we had inquiry presentations.

I was very happy because we were going to see the other classes and what they learnt for inquiry. We walked quietly to Room 1 where Mrs Greenham was waiting for us with some students. They taught us about birds and trees.

Then we went to Room 2 and Room 4 in the Junior area where we learnt a lot of facts about birds, trees and survival.

In the senior area, we learnt about first aid, what to do when you are going camping like telling your family where you are going and how long you will be going for. We also learnt about the 6 thinking hats from Room 8.

It was fun to learn some more information about our inquiry from last term.

My reading for this week

I read a story called The best camping place in the world by Tadpole. 

The story is about a family. The dad took the family camping and he said he knew a place for camping. 

When they travelled in the car. The dad told his family about all the fun things he did with his dad. He said there were big giant fish at the camping place. 

The family were very excited but when they got to the camping ground it was closed. There was a sign that said DO NOT EAT THE FISH IT IS POISONOUS. After that they had to go and find another camping ground.
